A warm welcome to Headstrong by Sportect ApS, Sports Lab Copenhagen's newest member!

Sportect was founded by Steen W. Hamburger, based on the belief that safety and protection will become more and more sought after in a world where sports is becoming ever more extreme and athletes play harder, go faster and jump higher – whether they are amateurs or professionals. Sportect develops, designs and engineers innovative protective gear that will change the sad prevailing trend of ever more injuries in ever more sports. Their first product, Headstrong, is a headband for footballers with best in class impact protection.

Steen W. Hamburger on joining Sports Lab Copenhagen: "We have been following the early development of Sports Lab Copenhagen and in regular dialog about what is needed to help early stage startups innovating in sports. We want to raise awareness of the ever-increasing problem of head injuries in football and to create a revolution on how we think about it. Sports Lab Copenhagen is ideally placed to help us in this journey, thanks to its wide ranging network and deep knowledge of the world of international sports. We are equally looking forward to growing together the sports innovation and tech scene in Denmark and the Nordics."
